Chapter 14: The Unexpected
The Luca- sexus libidous. A strange being propelled by an uncontrollable need to put his... thing in... places, no matter what the repercussions of such actions might be.
Recently, the result of such behaviour is that the Luca has got himself into a bit of a hot mess. Luca has never been one to think ahead, he's very much a man of the moment, and consequently this moment finds him locked in a love triangle- the object of his affections being Evie here.
But what would a love triangle be without an acute angle? (Lololololol, maths joke).
Tristan, Evie's fiancée, is the helpless victim in this scenario, being unaware as he is of his girlfriend's sluttish nature and his brother Luca's philandering ways.
Ah, but Luca's self-destructive behaviour didn't end there. Through his charm, intimidation, and pure sex appeal, Luca was recently able to lure all four members of The Legacy Stalkers House into bed, and they were now all pregnant.
As a daddy-to-be Luca wasn't exactly the most considerate and caring person... apparently calling the future mother of your child a llama is a perfectly acceptable baby shower present.
Strangely though, he was always very nice to Clairezy.
Pah, favouritism.
Before long it was time for the kiddies to be born. Sim Fury was the first to feel the burn of labour pain, and dutifully I sent Luca to assist. But, unfortunately for Sim me, Luca was more interested in having an argument with himself.
The digit placement in this picture makes me smile.
Oh yay it's a boy! His name is Lysander.
Not long after, down in the kitchen, Kim also went into labour.
And then Kitty decided to steal her thunder.
Another boy- this is Logan.
And a girl- Luna.
Immediately after giving birth, Kitty chose to neglect her new baby so she could aim some deathstares at Luca and Sim Fury who were canoodling.
And in the background Clairezy had a baby boy- Lazarus.
Mm, I think the look on Luca's face says it all. Man he really hates kids.
Elsewhere in Twinbrook, Tristan was hard at work as always doing some ghostbusting.
Well, that was kind of his job description, but having the Good trait as he did, Tris preferred to gently urge the ghosts to pass over rather than banish them in an aggressive manner.
All this time spent working nights meant that Tristan was rarely home, and when he was he was catching up on sleep in the daytime.
Naturally this gave Luca and Evie numerous opportunities to rendezvous in the Secret Sex Room in the basement.
But it never became obvious to Tristan what they were doing, mainly because Evie always managed to put on a very good show of 'the faithful girlfriend', whether Luca liked it or not.
It was a bit of an unexpected eventuality, but for some reason, despite his multiple liaisons with numerous women in the past, Luca seemed to really warm to Evie. Constantly he'd wish to spend time with her, and I think it really hurt him to know that she belonged to another.
Well, it hurt him and it made him mad.
It was probably for the best that Tris was rarely home- I was expecting a slap or a brawl or an atomic wedgie any day now. The tension between Luca and Tristan was insurmountable, although Tris was completely unaware with such things.
At least spending so much time at the graveyard gave Tristan the opportunity to make some interesting new friends.
Juliet DeMasses lived among the many ghosts of Twinbrook Cemetery, and she could always be counted on to show up whenever Tristan was in close proximity.
She had a distinctly playful nature which Tristan was sometimes the victim of, like the time I swear I saw her push him in the pool.
But generally the two got on very well indeed.
The next morning, a rather daunted-looking Luca was attempting to face up to his responsibilities as I sent him round to check on his children. Would you like to see them in toddler form?
This is Logan.
Lazarus.
Luna.
And Lysander.
...Why do I get the moody one?
EXCITING MOMENT!
Okay, it doesn't really look like it, but I can assure you this was a significant point in my game. This was the first time I played my game after installing Late Night, and it threw up some very unexpected and interesting events...
Can you tell what's happened? Hmm, maybe you need a more visual clue:
Ladies and gents- my first human/Simbot hybrid.
As many of you may remember, Evie is the daughter of Humperdink the Simbot and his human wife Kaylee. A long time ago I used my mods to sneak a look at Evie's traits and 'Simbot' was listed as a hidden one, so I did wonder if she'd ever become a bit mechanical. However, when she became a Young Adult and she was still human I figured it wasn't going to happen, but I guess my game had other ideas.
For whatever reason, the installation of Late Night sparked off Evie's hidden trait, and brought her Simbot side to life.
Ah, but she's not just a human/Simbot hybrid- Evie is also pregnant.
After finding out his fiancée was pregnant, Tristan was overjoyed at the prospect of being a father.
Well, if he is the father that is...
With a love triangle going on there were always bound to be complications, and the biggest one around has to be the fact that you might not know who the father of your baby is.
Well, perhaps the only thing worse than that is if one of the maybe-baby-daddies doesn't care if he's the father, and would actually prefer it if he wasn't.
Don't know what you're pouting for missus, you got yourself into this mess.
Ho well. Luca may not be interested in what's in Evie's tummy, but he is interested in every other part of her.
Evie prefers the microwave.
The next day was an important one in the Heart household. Tristan woke early and prepared himself for the occasion.
Yep yep, it's marriage time.
I know it might seem more than a little bit crazy that Tristan and Evie would get married, but as I've always said about my Sims the thing is- they wish it and I dish it. Tristan wanted to marry Evie, so I let him have it.
The happy couple, everybody.
Following the wedding, Tristan got the party started by showing off his awesome drum skills.
Meanwhile, Evie chowed down on an unusual wedding buffet of rusted metal.
And of course an in-depth conversation with the microwave just had to follow.
Unfortunately Tristan had to spend his wedding night working, so after he'd vanquished a few beasties he once again returned to the graveyard to look for spirits, where Juliet was waiting.
Meanwhile, Evie spent her wedding night in the arms of another, as per usual.
Oh! The pain, the pain!
Evie was in labour at this point. I know, she hides it well.
Despite his lack of interest in his possible child, Luca dutifully took Evie to the hospital.
And a baby girl was born- Ava.
Tristan spent only a few hours with his daughter that day before the night drew him away to the cemetery once again.
Whilst there, Tristan took a bit of time to unwind as he tried out one of the new options that came with Late Night- skinny dipping.
But it wasn't long before an over-exuberant ghost decided to join him.
After a rather embarrassed Tristan had dried off, Juliet joined him on a nearby bench for a chat.
But things became a little more passionate as Juliet leaned in and stole a hotly-anticipated kiss.
It didn't last long though. As an innately good Sim at heart Tristan couldn't help but feel guilty at partaking in such a sin, no matter how it made him feel inside.
Immediately he pulled away from Juliet and ran for home.
Later on, after reaching the homestead, Tristan first went into Ava's room where the child was sleeping. Taking her from the crib gave Tristan perspective. He was a father, and as such he knew he had to put his personal feelings aside and do what was best for his daughter.
Tristan wandered throughout the house looking for Evie- eager to tell her just how much she meant to him.
After having no luck on the above floors, Tristan headed down to the basement.
He soon wished he hadn't.
Okay, that's just cruel. Luca just went down in my estimations.
But to his credit, Tristan never got mad. Most others would have flipped out and attacked Evie and Luca, or at least given them a good piece of their mind. Instead, Tristan simply left Ava in the room with his betrayers, and calmly left.
It was only later that night, at the cemetery once again, that Tristan really broke down, and he began to cry.
But, barely a few anguished sobs into his disintegration, Tristan was startled by the sight of Juliet walking through the water towards him.
In that moment, Tristan realised that maybe not all was lost.
In the early hours of the morning Tristan returned home, full of worries and indecision.
His father Cassidy was happy to stay with his son and try to ease his woes, but in the end it was simply down to Tristan to decide what to do.
A few hours of sleep later and some of the fog in Tristan's mind had lifted. Today was the most important day of his life. He had things to do.
That morning, Tris paid a visit to the local tattoo parlour. He felt he needed the ink as a symbol of the changes to come.
Then, back at home, Tristan called Evie to the backyard so they could discuss their marriage.
And, unbelievably, Evie was repentant of her actions. Immediately she began to apologise to Tristan, but whether it was to ease Tristan's pain or her own guilt I'll never know.
Ever the gentleman, Tristan accepted Evie's apology.
And then he told her it was over.
Completely and utterly.
Not far away Luca watched the scene, and as always he surprised me. For whatever reason Luca was really upset by Tristan and Evie's marriage breakup, to the point where he actually started crying.
I don't think I'll ever understand the boy.
But in time Luca managed to pull himself together in order to console Evie.
In his own special way.
As night fell on that momentous day, Tristan practically sprinted to the graveyard.
He waited just minutes before Juliet emerged from the shadows.
Taking her deathlike hand in his own, Tristan whispered in Juliet's ear a plan for their future.
Pulling away she looked into his eyes and smiled. There was only one question to ask- "Where?"
Tristan took her face in his hands as the corners of his mouth formed a quiet grin.
"Bridgeport".
