I love The Sims. You know I've been playing it since I was thirteen, and now with the Sims 3 my appreciation for the game is stronger than ever. Considering I spend so much time playing you know what really makes me happy? When I end up with such a charming Sim as Micah, a Sim so delicate and kind and... oh fuck it, you know she's rotten- just look at her face. I take her out clubbing on her very first night as a Young Adult and what do I get? Death stares.
Fuck my life.
If I had it my way I would just lock Micah in the house all day and leave her to talk to a cup on a stick, but nope- this is a legacy, and we must (painfully) progress. Micah has dreams of stardom and celebrity, and consequently I must honour those wants by taking her out to meet the little people. Turns out the little people don't like Micah very much... Shocker.
In the end I just plied the girl with booze and left her to dance by herself as I slowly bashed the keyboard against my face in frustration.
Anyways! The following night it was time for the birthdays of Kain and Ashleigh Rose, and yanno due to family complications Kain is actually Ashleigh's uncle, even though she's way older than him. Eesh.
Ashleigh was first to age up.

Then came Kain.
I kind of suspect he looks more like Piper than Devon, but it's really hard to tell with the ghostyness.
Now that cousins Micah and Ashleigh were both Young Adults it was time for them to begin to take control of their own lives. Both girls had their sights set high and they yearned for the finer things in life, so moving out of the family home was surely the first step towards achieving this.
And where else but a penthouse for an aspiring celebrity to set up home?
I built this lovely apartment like yonks ago but never really did anything with it, and as soon as Micah and Ashleigh expressed desires to move I just knew it was the perfect place for them.
But not only them. To add a further dynamic to the household, Micah's BFF Sky Sindel also moved into the house. He too had dreams of celebrity, but perhaps of a more subtle nature as all he wanted was to be in a successful band.
Micah and Ashleigh both got jobs in the Film career but, as work wasn't due to start until the next day, they both had the evening free. Along with Sky, the trio headed to a local bar in order to schmooze. Well, I say that, but they were refused entry straight-off and it was only down to some cold hard cash that they even got in in the first place.
Before long other revellers began to turn up, and among them was Ashleigh's boyfriend Adrian, who had also recently become a Young Adult. Neither wasted time in enjoying their new-found adulthood...
Yes, what's a night out without a stride of pride?
But whilst Ashleigh and Co were out enjoying themselves, back at home this heinous crime was being committed. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
That burglar was a fricking shrewd one. She casually broke into the apartment and went straight for the giant telly, then ran off before I could send Micah back to kick her ass. Curses!
For the next few days the Heart household turned to skilling as they worked to achieve their goals. Ashleigh's agent called and told her to hit the gym, which she did gladly.
Sky hadn't met anyone yet to start a band with, so in the meantime he just worked on improving his guitar skill.
And Micah? Well, she was off being her usual charming self...
This was the point when I started to rein it in- getting Micah to improve her charisma skill drastically and purchasing her the Attractive lifetime reward, as well as stopping her from mocking too many people. It would take time, but I was determined to turn Micah into a desirable human being.
I'd never really explored the clubs in Bridgeport before, mainly because they tend to be a massive pain in the arse. This may look like a lovely picture of my Simmies having a swell time, but notice the lack of, well, anybody else. Every time my Sims head out everyone else just seems to get stuck in the elevator or whatev. It's annoying...
Instead, I soon found the quickest way to meet people was to throw loads of parties. Okay, so I did have to use Master Controller to switch between all the guests so I could get them to teleport inside, but still.
Every time there was a party at the Heart's apartment it gave my little aspiring celebs a chance to meet and greet, which they were... okay at. Celebrities tend to be quite snobbish don't they- not letting you talk to them unless you have something particularly impressive to say. Pah, like my misfits would have anything interesting to say, ever.
Strangely enough though, at this particular party Micah was having no trouble whatsoever making friends. Due to her high charisma skill and attractiveness anyone she met instantly became her friend, and this enabled Micah to befriend I think it was four celebrities in one night, which earnt her her own (very minor) celebrity status.
But that's not to say Micah was entirely successful that night... When it comes to romance, Micah just tends to jump in with both feet, which usually leads to a knockback. Sorry dear.
As I continued to play the game I began to get even more hacked off with the bar situation. Time was, the only club that worked properly for me was The Grind, so when even that began to fuck up I had to find a solution. Well, an alternative.
After much searching I finally found a club where I didn't have to download a bunch of CC (cause I couldn't be bothered). I think it was originally called Helios, but to me it's Funky Town.
Clearly it's a very high-end place; I didn't even have to make my Lady Gaga Sim show up- she went of her own accord.
Micah wasted no time in befriending Lady Gaga, mainly because it took absolutely no time at all.
And later on that night Micah's new rush of success with her personal relationships continued. This guy is called Mitchell Webb and he's a four star celeb, and Micah's boss.
And now he's her hunny-bun too...
This was actually Micah's first kiss, bless her. As you may remember our Mikey's had a life of, well, just pissing people off really, so it's not surprising that she was never afforded the chance to lock lips before. Still, that all seemed to be over now as a new, more composed and captivating Micah was coming to light.
Although Micah was thrilled about her new beau, her inexperience in these matters meant that she wasn't in a rush to take the next step. And so, there was just some kissing.
And some more kissing.
And some more kissing.
Micah and Mitchell dated for about a week behind closed doors. With them both being celebrities it was necessary to do so to keep things low-key, and this suited Micah as she didn't want everyone to know... at least not at first.
Eventually though it was time to come out as a couple, and so Micah and Mitchell had their first public embrace in Funky Town.
There was always a reason why Micah didn't want anyone to know about them yet, but it never occurred to her that Mitchell might have reasons to keep their affair secret too. And that was the hit of it- it was an affair, Micah just had no idea that Mitchell was married... to Sky's mother.
Don't worry, it's not too twisted though- Mitchell is only Sky's step-father, and he doesn't like him very much. Now I know why...
Cad.
Of course, Micah was only too blissfully unaware of her new man's ungentlemanly behaviour- love being blind and all that (or maybe just wilfully ignorant).
That night Micah and Mitchell consummated their blossoming relationship, though it wasn't quite as intimate as they would have liked...
Apparently there's nothing like a live sex-show to brighten up a dull evening...
Eventually I got the guests to fack off so Micah and Mitchell could get down to business, though unfortunately I must have missed Ashleigh lurking behind the curtain... Eeep.
Elsewhere in the household Sky was practising with his new bandmates. We've got St0rm D4rkw34th3r on keyboards, Sky Sindel on guitar, and Douglas Paxton on drums- collectively known as Hunky Dudes.
What? The name seemed to fit...
With his band helping him slowly creep up the social ladder Sky began to experience a bit more success in celebritydom. Hunky Dudes worked hard and played as many gigs as they could and Sky spent a lot of time attempting to befriend celebrities.
But that's not to say that all of them were particularly amiable...
I think it was harder for Sky to gain success than most people, due in part I'm sure to his tendency to burst into tears often. He has the Over Emotional trait and he's a Loser, so it's not surprising that things don't always go his way...
Hahahahahahahaha... *dies a little with laughter*
Have you ever seen this happen before? It was a first for me- poor little Sky got himself into a bit of a predicament whilst ice sculpting. It's a dangerous profession donchaknow.
The guy got free eventually though his face was messed up for a while.
He actually spent the rest of the day with his expression frozen like this... *smirk*
Eventually Sky recovered enough to be able to create this oh-so-charming ice sculpture of Micah.
And speaking of the lady herself- here's Mikey posing for pictures in a club, for by this point she had reached the heady heights of being a level 3 celebrity. Getting her to learn the charisma skill was definitely a brilliant move as it really helped her to befriend tonnes of celebs, and naturally this association increased her street cred somewhat.
Other members of the Heart household weren't quite so awash with success. Like Sky, Ashleigh was experiencing some problems as she sought to advance. Oh sure she looked the part and everything, she just hadn't buddied up with enough people.
I think this was mainly due to her Evil nature and the fact that she wasn't exactly the friendliest individual.
Eventually, Ashleigh's discontent at her languishing celebrity status turned into full-blown resentment towards her more famous cousin Micah, and she had no qualms about expressing this.
Of course, you can't just go around shoving Micah and expecting to get away with it can you?
Before long the girls' hissy turned into a all-down-smackdown in the middle of Funky Town...
...Which Micah sadly lost.
The fight, which had happened in full paparazzi glare, had given Ashleigh a boost in celebrity points, and a new idea... Surely to be noticed in this mad starry world you have to steal scenes, and one of the easiest ways to achieve this has to be the hookup route, which is exactly what Ashleigh chose to do.
St0rm was a level 2 celeb himself and a bit of a ladies man, err, Sim. He was happy to accept Ashleigh's advances- in fact he'd actually been hitting on her for a while but she always knocked him back because she had a boyfriend. I mean, she still does, she just doesn't care now. Micah does though...
As you know, Micah's spent a lot of time schmoozing in recent weeks and consequently she's friends with just about everyone- including Ashleigh's boyfriend Adrian. So when she witnessed Ashleigh cheating on him, well, she got a little bit mad...
...And she got a smack in the chops for her troubles.
But Micah wasn't really one to be defeatist, and so later that night she just happened to invite Adrian out to Funky Town, and she just happened to try to console him over Ashleigh's cheating, which up until this point he had no idea about. Hur hur.
Ashleigh got what was coming to her, and her relationship with Adrian was over.
Not that she really cared- she had a brand new boytoy to enjoy.
I'm sure Sky wondered why his bessie mate St0rm was strolling past him in his undercrackers in the middle of the day, but he said nothing. Best not to ask yanno?
Speaking of Sky... erm.
By this point, and in spite of all of his hard work, Sky was still only a minor celebrity and his band were just a dive act. As you know though Sky is a Loser so he's prone to failure, but still- I wanted to help him out a bit.
And so I decided to visit the Stylist Salon to get him a makeover, and who did I find working there as Head Stylist?
It's Sam Winchester from Supernatural! I downloaded the guy from here a while ago and plonked him in my game, and apparently my Story Progression mod decided he was well suited to a life of fixing people up. Who knew?
Errr, best stick to demon hunting eh Sam?
After Sam's dismal attempt I decided to take over and do the job myself, and I think I did a pretty sterling job. Sky seems to like it anyways.
Sky also got a tattoo to complete his new rockstar look.
Then, after some time spent pumping iron at the gym...
...Sky was ready to debut his hot new look.
With Sky's makeover came a new image for the band too. As Hunky Dudes Sky, St0rm, and Douglas had achieved moderate success, to the point where they were now a headlining act at dive bars. However, to take their career that one step further a name change was in order, and so the band's name was changed to Electrocute the Walrus.
Electrocute the Walrus had a great first gig under their new moniker, but apparently the achievement was just too much for Sky as he later ran screaming from the building. Bless.
With his shiny new look giving him more confidence, Sky was well equipt to help out Micah with some of her ambitions too. She'd gotten that call from her agent telling her to work out for a while so Sky stepped in to help.
Apparently Micah needed all the help she could get...
As time went on Micah began to exercise more and more, as you would expect of any celeb. Most days she would go on a jog throughout the neighbourhood until she ended up at her boyfriend's house, but on one day in particular she found she wasn't the only one visiting him that day...
Uh oh. The woman you see here is of course Mitchell's wife (DUN DUN DUR). You can just see him in the background there, sprinting in to try and avert catastrophe.
Naturally Micah's suspicions were raised; I mean, it's not every day you run into a strange woman at your boyfriend's house.
But Mitchell, being the charmer that he was, soon smoothed things over. It was the usual story- she's just an assistant, my friend, it's not what it seems... Usually it's exactly that.
After Micah had been fobbed off with various excuses she retired to a bar with her best buddy Sky, and as she puffed away at the bubble machine she tried to put the worries out of her mind.
It wouldn't last though. With so many secrets lurking just beneath the surface, surely it would only be a matter of time before they were uncovered, and who knows what the consequences would be...
